Sydney CBD Permanent full-time position specialising in privacy legislation matters Hybrid/flexible working model & Sydney CBD location with harbour views Salary from $ 120k plus superannuation & company benefits on offer About the Role This role will support the Principal Privacy Officer and the Risk and Compliance teams to influence and foster a privacy aware culture across icare. Specifically, this role assists to coordinate the strategic oversight, operational administration and reporting on compliance of specific legislation (i.e. Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998, Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 and Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 as well as other data protection laws). Assist in the interpretation and application of relevant privacy legislation and work with business areas to develop and update existing policies, protocols, procedures, guidelines and change initiatives and operationalising them. Provide advice on escalated privacy complaints and privacy incidents, including incident/breach assessment, response and reporting. Manage and maintain databases of incident/breach assessments, privacy complaints, privacy internal reviews to support compliance with icare's reporting obligations. Develop, update and assist deliver training material on icare's obligations. Source and collate information for reporting to help provide insights on privacy. Prepare and maintain documentation of policies and procedures and change initiatives. Assist in implementing new and existing privacy initiatives across icare and its service providers. Skills & Experience Well-developed understanding and experience of NSW privacy legislation, compliance procedures and standards, and associated data protections laws. Demonstrated expertise in the interpretation and application of relevant legislation, policies, protocols and procedures. A broad range of experience in working with information in Government and dealing with privacy matters. Experience in preparing high quality briefs, reports, policy and procedure documentation. Excellent problem-solving skills, basing decisions on evidence, but when necessary, making effective judgements under pressure. Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively, effectively and efficiently in a team environment.
