In this role, you will: Spearhead engineering initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our managed services business for Azure and M365 clients. Utilize DevOps practices and tools to configure, monitor, operate, and optimize customer Azure and M365 environments. Employ Infrastructure as Code to build and execute operations. Collaborate with the wider team to achieve internal objectives and client goals. Provide support to the service desk team, handling escalations, and mentoring junior staff. Offer input and assistance to other technical teams. Identify and implement enhancements to operational and technical processes. Proactively identify and manage risk areas within supported environments, ensuring resolution. Ensure end-to-end resiliency of cloud infrastructure, including High Availability, Disaster Recovery, and Backup/Restore. Apply security best practices across all managed environments. Develop and deploy reports that offer insights into the managed service's status. Oversee Microsoft Azure solutions, focusing on IaaS, PaaS, and Security solutions, Azure Integration Services, Infrastructure as Code deployments, Azure Monitor, Azure Sentinel, Azure Networking, Azure Virtual Desktop, and Azure Active Directory B2C. Manage Microsoft 365 infrastructure solutions, including OneDrive, SharePoint, Exchange Online, Teams Collaboration, Identity and Security, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, and Windows Defender. Supervise On-premises datacenter solutions, covering Windows servers, Linux servers, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Azure Active Directory Connect, and Microsoft NDES and SCEP infrastructure. Assess current on-premises and cloud-based solutions for future optimization. Analyze existing business practices, processes, and procedures to identify opportunities for leveraging Microsoft 365 & Azure cloud offerings. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert and advisor for clients, supporting their cloud journey and necessary assessments. Manage expectations of platform and application owners. Must haves: Non-Technical Requirements: Demonstrated success in cloud operations and engineering, coupled with a strong grasp of ITIL processes. Proven capacity to collaborate with and influence cross-functional teams across all organizational levels. Exceptional communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) and adept interpersonal and negotiation abilities to garner acceptance of ideas, foster cooperation, and achieve desired outcomes. Adaptable with a proven track record of adjusting to evolving priorities, demands, and timelines, leveraging analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Established proficiency in working creatively and analytically within problem-solving scenarios, showcasing teamwork, innovation, and excellence. Permanent Residency or Australian Citizenship required, with the ability to meet minimum baseline security vetting. Technical Requirements: At least 4-6 years' experience in Microsoft Azure, encompassing Azure Networking, IaaS, PaaS, and Security solutions. At least 4-6 years' experience with Microsoft 365, including Teams, Exchange Online, Office 365, Enterprise Mobility & Security, Conditional Access, and complementary areas of Power Platform. Minimum of 2 years' experience with Microsoft Azure Integration services, including APIM, Functions, Service Bus, and Logic Apps. Strong understanding of Active Directory and Azure AD Identity model, enabling informed recommendations tailored to client requirements. Solid grasp of application, integration, data, network, and security engineering, with extensive expertise in SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, and XaaS. Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for simplifying administration and deployment tasks. Proficient with DevOps tools, code repositories, and pipelines. Skillful in documenting high-level solution designs and creating as-built, as-configured documentation. Expertise in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Microsoft technologies. Foundational understanding of enterprise networks and security principles. Experience in managing datacenter solutions across physical infrastructure, hypervisor environments, and relevant operating systems. Experience in networking and network security across internal and public networks. Proficient in automation tools and scripting languages for process optimization and system querying. Experience in migrating key workloads (email, files, apps, and servers) to cloud environments. Experience and comprehension of basic infrastructure components like DNS, DHCP, AD, GPO, and Windows Server. Experience with PKI and certificate management. Nice to haves: Microsoft and/or relevant vendor certifications. Practical experience and comprehension of Azure cloud computing or similar cloud infrastructure platforms.
