How will I help?
You will be part of the Consumer Bank Technology team and report into a broader Head of Technology role, that leads technology “change and run” services for Westpac’s “Cash & Transactional Banking” business unit (ie everyday banking).
You will lead the Payments & Fraud technology team within that, accountable for end-to-end service management, strategy and planning, technology architecture, and Project/Programme delivery across Card Payments, Switching, ATM/POS and Cash technologies.
Your key responsibilities include:
Leadership: strong technical leadership of a cross functional team comprising software engineers, quality engineers solution, designers, promoting a collaborative and engaging work environment
Technology Strategy: develop and execute the technology strategy and roadmap for Payment Switching, ATM, Cash and Fraud systems, in alignment with business objectives and industry mandates
Program Delivery: manage a portfolio of projects and change, working across stakeholders to plan and resource demand and ensure quality in delivery
Stakeholder Engagement:development of relationships with senior business and technology stakeholders, providing direction in the formulation of business strategy and technology roadmap decisions
Service Management: end to end ownership of related technology assets, including operations, financials and risk management
Partnerships: Manage relationships with vendors and third-party service providers ensuring effective delivery and adherence to SLAs

What do I need?
Proven experience in senior business facing Technology Leadership roles, with a track record of delivering complex projects
Technology domain experience in Payments/Cards, specifically Payment Switching, ATM, Point of Sale and Cash Services technologies
Experience in strategy & architecture incorporating technology roadmaps, solutioning and transformation
Commercial acumen and strong consulting & collaboration skills, including management of suppliers and strategic partners
Strong stakeholder management experience
Experience in ACI’s Base24, Proactive Risk Management (PRM) systems desirable
Experience in Core Banking systems, Card Issuing, Card scheme networks, payments gateways desirable
Attract and retain high performance talent and build cohesive teams
Be effective at managing risk in complex/heritage technology environment undergoing modernisation
help drive Westpac’s technology simplification agenda and groupwide adoption of of scaled agile
