As a Senior Systems Engineering Specialist: Investigate, manage, and implement corrections, enhancements, and upgrades on supported systems. Provide engineering expertise and plans for the testing and deployment of system changes. Prepare engineering and system support documentation. Develop proposals and estimates for system changes and improvements. Develop and control system configurations. Review and approve system drawing changes (circuit diagrams and system interface connections). Support field maintenance staff in deploying system changes and resolving system issues. Participate in projects and lead the creation of project engineering artefacts, Manage and implement system security controls, Determine work priorities and lead small teams completing project and support activities, Fulfil a System Technical Advisor role for one or more systems as required, Liaise across the organisation with maintenance centres, asset managers, project managers, safety specialists, engineering assurance specialists and system users, Liaise with external organisations, support contractors and suppliers, Provide training, coaching, mentoring and work review for technical and engineering staff, Adhere to relevant regulations, legislation, and frameworks (e.g., Civil Aviation Safety Regulations, Work Health and Safety legislation, internal frameworks, and reporting processes), Manage system technical and safety risks, The Person: The successful applicant will have:
A solid practical understanding of electronic and electrical circuits. Experience in providing system support including, investigation, management, and resolution of complex issues. Proven ability to provide technical leadership of small teams completing support and project activities. Excellent communication skills with the ability to write high quality technical and non-technical documents, reports, and procedures for a range of audiences, Experience providing training, coaching, and mentoring to technical and engineering personnel. Understanding of the typical engineering artefacts produced across the life cycle of a technology project, An Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunications, Information Technology or similar engineering degree, or certified equivalent international qualification, which provides eligibility for registration as a professional engineer under applicable state or territory legislation (e.g., Board of Professional Engineers Queensland).
