Role overview:
The Senior Simulator Technician (Operator) is responsible for operating and maintaining the JTAC simulator. The operator provide support to end users to acquire and maintain JTAC currency whilst assisting students on the usage of digital Close Air Support and Digitally Aided Fires platforms.
The Operator is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing training scenarios at the direction of their relevant end user community whilst providing training assistance to meet the desired training outcomes.
Primary responsibilities:
+ Advising on and developing training scenarios as requested by the unit.
+ Planning and executing training scenarios.
+ Assisting personnel on training courses.
+ Instruction on training courses if requested by the unit
+ Record maintenance of the usage and problems arising with the simulator report database.
+ Responsible for maintaining a bookings register for access to the simulator.
+ Provision of on-the-job training to ADF personnel in the operation of simulation systems.
+ Performance of all maintenance tasks for simulation systems including but not limited to, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, calibration, testing and any resulting removal or replacement of components of the system.
+ Installation, testing and commissioning of software patches as required.
+ The Operator will be available to act as a role player for Australian Defence Force staff to produce training outcomes.
E.g.
Pilot or UAV Operator.
+ Liaising with the Operator Lead when items require replacing on-site
Skills and experience:
Essential
+ Defence terminology experience
+ Experience as a JFO or JTAC
+ Ability to gain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (SECRET) Australian Government security clearance.
Must be an Australian Citizen
Desirable
+ Technical qualification in a related discipline.
+ Customer Service Experience
+ Experience in Fault Isolation
