About the Position
An opportunity has become available to join our team of highly capable and enthusiastic engineers. You’ll e nsure project compliance with RAMS requirements, through effective management of RAMS and V&V activities that align with schedules and budgets in a complex project driven environment.
Key accountabilities:
Workload management with periodic workload updates and analysis of deviations.
Critical path management and alignment of RAMS schedule with project master schedule, to avoid unplanned interruption of activities in RAMS stream.
A proactive risk management for early detection of cost, schedule, technical and resource issues and proposal of recovery plans.
Estimate RAMS and V&V activities and agree with the PM and the controller the relevant budget.
Apply a front-loading approach in order to anticipate and avoid technical, schedule and budget issues that could negatively affect RAMS activities.
Contribute to the improvement of RAMS and V&V standard processes, with focus on effectiveness and cost reduction.
Ensure the application of RAMS standard processes and share project lessons learned with the RAMS department.
Support preparation of bids and proposals.
Ensure all activities undertaken in the Company are conducted with due regard to a high level of safety including:
Setting an example in following and promoting safe workEnsuring all activities undertaken comply with applicable Ansaldo STS Workplace Health Safety and Environment policies and procedures.Essential criteria:
At least five years of experience in signalling or another safety critical engineering area.At least five years of RAMS experience particularly in the use of appropriate safety engineering techniques, such as PHA, FTA, FMEA etc.Engineering Degree or Equivalent Technical Engineering background.Ability to conduct engineering safety analysis of safety-critical systems, e.g. FMEA, HAZOP, FTA.Ability to develop System Safety and RAM Arguments (Safety Cases) for complex projects.Ability to develop System Safety and RAM Plans.Demonstrated ability to apply relevant international safety standards, e.g. EN50126, EN50128, EN50129 and IEC 61508Ability to undertake domestic and some international travel.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Sound analytical and organisational skills.Ability to meet deadlines.At Hitachi Rail, we know that a diverse business is a sustainable business.
