As a result of recent program management wins for regional transportation agencies we’re now actively looking to expand our Southern California Team and hire a Senior Project Engineer to support our projects. This will be a versatile role undertaking a cross-section of program management assignments primarily for highway and rail projects but may also include other sectors Mott MacDonald supports. Our transportation work includes some of the largest projects in California working with immediately recognized clients.As part of your role, we expect the following responsibilities:Project engineering and coordination in support of our existing portfolio of >$100 Million in program management services contracts for regional transportation agencies in California;Direct client engagement working with guidance from senior management; including coordinating with client staff, responding to client requests, and attending various project meetings;Supporting all facets of utility coordination for our clients, including but not limited to: preparation of notices, letters, utility agreements and closeout documents; identification and resolution of utility conflicts; utility relocation coordination and tracking; participation in regular utility coordination meetings; review of utility design plans to ensure compatibility with client construction plans; field support coordination of utility relocation construction; preparation of Caltrans right-of-way certification documents;Writing reports, technical memorandums, agreements and letters on behalf of and/or for submission to clients;Overseeing client consultants and management of Mott MacDonald staff producing design solutions, reports, and specifications;Tracking project progress and analyzing and managing project schedules;Reviewing invoices and performing financial and budgeting analysis for projects;Supporting project closeout activities;Reviewing engineering design plans, specifications and estimates and technical reports;Contribution to and preparation of proposals for submission to clients;Managing and mentoring junior/graduate engineers and supporting their development;Mott MacDonald's experience in infrastructure projects dates to the early 1900s. We’re looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join our team to continue this and invite applications from candidates withBachelor’s degree in civil engineering;Professional engineer (PE) license in California or ability to obtain a license within one year;10-15 years of experience in civil engineering and project management support for highway and/or rail transportation projects, experience in southern California preferred;Proficient in the use of MS Office suite of software, including Word, Excel, Power Point, and access. A working knowledge of BIM tools (Bentley/Autodesk) would also be advantageous.Demonstratable record of project engineering and project management support for implementation of large transportation projects in Southern California;Proficient in analyzing and interpreting complex contract language;Experience in utility coordination and the Caltrans right-of-way certification process;Strong references from past managers or clients;You’ll be a career-minded individual with aspirations of working on challenging and exciting infrastructure projects.
