Details: The Education Directorate is seeking a Senior Director, to lead a small team responsible for managing the implementation of a range of system-led initiatives across 91 ACT public schools and the Education Support Office that seek to improve literacy and numeracy outcomes for students.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced, strategic, self-motivated, and effective policy leader with strong critical thinking skills. They will be highly organised, have good interpersonal skills and the capacity to build relationships. They will have good verbal and written communication skills, as well as proven problem-solving abilities. The ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment, with competing priorities and with minimal supervision and demonstrate exemplary public administration is also required.
Working to the Deputy Director-General, the Literacy and Numeracy Implementation team is responsible for managing the implementation of a range of system-led initiatives across 91 public schools and the Education Support Office that seek to improve literacy and numeracy outcomes for students in the ACT by:
- Managing the implementation of a range of system-led initiatives that seek to improve literacy and numeracy outcomes for ACT students.
- Undertaking high level strategy and implementation planning, in close consultation with a diverse array of stakeholders, including teachers and school communities.
- Providing project management to ensure timely and effective implementation of initiatives both within other areas of the Education Support Office and in ACT public schools.
- Using data and evidence to oversee the development and procurement of system-led approaches to teaching, curriculum and assessment.
- Developing strategic communications and engagement.
