We are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join the Greenfield team to provide civil engineering, technical consulting , and project management services to a range of civil and road engineering projects throughout the project lifecycle. The position also involves the supervision of a Civil Engineer in a growing civil engineering department.
What the job involves: Civil Engineering Using a strong background in technical civil engineering to provide technical advice and consulting services in civil and road engineering to clients Identifies root causes of engineering problems, and develops engineering and technical solutions to address root causes. Determines appropriate implementation strategies, tools and technologies considering all technical, engineering and other variables Plans, designs, or carries out civil engineering projects demonstrating sound engineering judgement Prepares, contributes to, and reviews technical engineering documentation including reports, drawings, memos, scopes, and other documentation Evaluates and critiques proposed engineering solutions using a risk-based approach Demonstrates strong knowledge of fundamental road engineering technical concepts and details including road and intersection geometry, drainage, materials, surfacing, Austroads and MRWA standards Strong knowledge of the key road engineering deliverables and the selection of the correct deliverables to meet project objectives. Technical knowledge of desktop and field visual road condition assessments including data collection, interrogation, evaluation and reporting. Desirable: working knowledge of RAMM road asset management system including road asset valuation techniques and calculations. Project Management Leads civil engineering projects leveraging a thorough technical knowledge and strong professional communication skills. Works with cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams to deliver projects. Using a range of assessment techniques and standard project management practices to monitor the success of a project. Monitors and manages project budgets and cash flow and takes action to address deviations from planned expenditure. Leadership and Management Identifies business needs and contributes technical engineering mentoring and advice to colleagues as required. Builds a cohesive team (both internal and external) with clarity around goals and accountabilities. Supports individuals and the team, delegating responsibilities appropriately and consistent with business objectives. Develops team capability and recognises and develops potential in people. Identifies and acts on opportunities to provide coaching and mentoring. Stakeholder Engagement Lead and manage stakeholder engagement on specific projects. Prepare project reports and updates for key stakeholders. Manage contractors and subcontractors in accordance with contractual documentation. What qualifications and experience are required?
