The Risk and Compliance Analyst plays an important role in the management of Helia's Risk and Compliance frameworks, assisting Head of Enterprise and Regulatory Risk in ensuring that, as an ASX listed entity, its operations are conducted in compliance with ethical business practices, company policies and the applicable legal and regulatory a second line role is a key influencer and facilitator across the organisation ensuring decisions and strategies are well balanced and a sound risk culture continues to be embedded across all levels of the role has a specialist focus on technology and cyber risks, performing critical review and challenge activities in support of Helia's ambitious technology strategy and roadmap. Whilst also bolstering our second line controls assurance capabilities – expanding both the breadth and depth of our integrated and risk-based assurance role has broad exposure to senior management and all aspects of Australia's leading lenders mortgage insurance business with successful candidates able to assist with the continual enhancement and maturity of the well-established risk and compliance function, the continual enhancement of our Governance, Risk and Compliance system and will work collaboratively across all risk classes to enhance our risk architecture and influence improved risk behaviours through role modelling, training and education.ResponsibilitiesTechnology and Cyber:Provide critical review and challenge through active and ongoing oversight and collaboration on Helia's Technology Strategy and Roadmap, including performing assurance activities and leading risk and compliance assessments on agile or project delivery.Design and lead assurance activities to ensure assurance is performed in support of our key timelines and milestones, seeking to ensure assurance integrated within both our project management and agile delivery frameworks.Controls assurance:Perform accurate and timely control assurance activities across all of Helia including financial, technology, operational, commercial and people functions.Assist in the annual planning of control assurance activities to ensure activities are risk-based and aligned with other assurance activities performed by internal audit, external audit and business functions.Following the completion of activities, report the outcomes to business functions in a clear, concise and effective manner.Monitor and oversee the completion of remediation actions arising from controls assurance activities.Provide accurate and timely reporting to management and committees on the status and completion of controls assurance activities including remediation actions.Assist in enhancing the controls assurance program to ensure it is risk-based, forward looking and effectively designed to provide a 2nd Line review and challenge over 1st Line activities.Assist in incident management and reporting, ensuring root causes are identified with appropriate and timely remediation and rectifications actions are taken.Risk Management:Assist with the managing or dealing with risk and compliance related issues, or other Helia related issues.Work pro-actively with business functions to embed risk and compliance accountability, supporting employees with appropriate ongoing education, tools, reporting and training.Compliance ManagementAssist functions to adhere with legislative, regulatory and contract obligations.Deliver risk and compliance training, guidance and advice to all staff, with relevance to their job roles and, where applicable, suppliers and other third parties.Governance:Assist in the delivery of the key risk and compliance governance processes, including assisting with management and reporting of risks within defined risk appetite metrics.Assist in the preparation of management and board reporting.Risk and Compliance Systems:Ensure the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) system is designed and operating effectively including with respect to controls assurance activities.General requirements:Adhere to the compliance obligations relevant to your position; perform your duties in an ethical, lawful and safe manner; undertake training as directed by the Head of Enterprise and Regulatory Risk; report and escalate compliance concerns, issues and failures; and disclose potential conflicts of interest.Experience and QualificationsAt least 3 years of technology and / or cyber risk management experience including performing controls assurance in the insurance industry and/or financial services.Technology or Cyber qualifications (e.g. ISACA Credentials, etc).Strong working knowledge of technology and cyber risk management laws and standards and a keen interest to expand your knowledge into a broader range of risk classes.Proficient at working in an agile environment with strong understanding of effective risk and compliance management practices in an Agile Methodology.Experience performing controls assurance activities across a broad range of technology and information security controls with presentation of results.Demonstrated ability to perform in a rapidly changing, fast paced environment and ability to work independently under pressure and to tight deadlines.Knowledge of risk frameworks and embedding practices.Ability to work collaboratively and demonstrated ability to influence peers and managers.Strong oral and written communication.Critical thinking / good analytical skills.
