You will be responsible for managing the warehouse operations of our brand new , state of the art Milwaukee Tools Distribution Centre (DC) situated at Melbourne Airport, Tullamarine. Reporting directly to the Distribution Centre Manager this role will take full responsibility for driving, leading and set up of the operations. Your day to day will include: Lead, motivate and develop a large operational Team in the Melbourne Airport DC Recommend improved operating policies and processes, ensuring current processes are maintained and reflect best practice operations Drive and lead the effective change of facilities from NSW to the new 73,000 sqm DC at Melbourne Airport commercial precinct in late 2024 onwards Responsible for process continuous improvement, root cause analysis of problems and audit performance Ensure strict adherence to safety compliance and vigorously promote a culture of safety Ensure highest standard of delivery inbound and outbound operations, including daily pick volumes Maximise efficiencies and cost control through the effective management of labour planning, branch hours, agency labour overtime and absenteeism Ongoing preparation of operational and capital expenditure budgets and forecasts Project manage and deliver on logistics transformation inclusive of new technology automation and Warehouse Management Systems About YOU Ideally you will have a proven background in an Operations/Warehouse Management role and experience in overseeing a large DC within a fast-paced environment. You will have strong leadership skills and knowledge in WMS system management in addition to the following skills/attributes: A Safety-first focus Capable of managing an operation with a minimum of 3000 SKU’s Commercially astute PC and systems literate e.g. SAP; MS Office, WMS systems Excellent analytical and reporting skills Ability to switch from day-to-day management issues to strategic thinking Strong interpersonal & influencing skills Previous exposure in a Greenfield or Go Live environment would be advantageous If the above resonates with you and you are excited at the prospect of joining a successful and fast growth organisation, working with a premium brand then please APPLY NOW!
