Oceania Rugby Financial Accountant (NSW, Australia) Oceania Rugby is hiring a Financial Accountant in New South Wales, Australia. ROLE OVERVIEW:Reporting to Oceania Rugby General Manager, this is an exciting opportunity as the Financial Accountant for the Regional Body of Rugby in Oceania. You will be delivering financial expertise as well as being part of programs and deliverables to ensure the growth and development of Rugby and facets connected from grassroots to high performance. You will be immersed in discussions with World Rugby, Member Union bodies, Commercial Partners, and Government/Not-for-Profit organisations.MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:Report on organization’s full financial requirements and outcomes. This will include bi-monthly finance reports and annual reports.Manage end to end accounting including BAS lodgement, AP/AR, and reconciliations.Assist auditors on audit completion.Identify, analyze, and provide detailed reporting to the General Manager on potential financial, operational, reputational, and the Health & Safety risks that may impact the the organisation.Present relevant reports to Board and Members at Annual General Meeting.Liaise with Budget managers on budget tracking and reporting to the General Manager.Review and oversee several Member Unions (overseas Rugby Union bodies) and their 3rd party accounting service providers regarding budget tracking and payment approvals.Provide ad-hoc assistance to Member Unions on internal improvements, including best practice, software upgrades and training (particularly on Xero).Liaise with external outsource finance function arms, particularly regarding Government acquittals or legal review on agreements and grants.QUALIFICATIONS:Qualified or Chartered Accountant (CAANZ) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification.Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or finance.EXPERIENCE:3+ years’ experience in a similar role or industry.SKILLS:Expert proficiency in Xero accounting and Microsoft Office skills.Excellent verbal and written communication.Organized and able to meet deadlines.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.BENEFITS:Competitive salary package.Opportunities for professional development and growth.Engagement in a global sporting organisation.Opportunities to build a global network of sporting professionals.
