Employing an average of 200 staff, of whom 63% are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, we are committed to delivering services for residents of the region.About the Role: The Municipal Services Manager reports directly to the Director of Tennant Creek and facilitates the achievement of Council's corporate objectives by developing, maintaining, and coordinating effective delivery of infrastructure services and asset management within the Township of Tennant Creek for Barkly Regional Council.The role of the Municipal Services Manager exists to assist the Director of Tennant Creek with a broad range of local government activities relating to Waste management, roads and pathways, drainage structures, parks and open spaces. This position is responsible for overseeing the successful day to day operations of the municipal services, including waste management, by managing staff and leading teams to deliver excellent outcomes.The Essentials: A demonstrated background in horticulture and waste management including knowledge of sustainable garden practices, and composting is required for this role. Proven ability to interpret and apply standard, related documents and civil engineering plans, including but not limited to landfill design, excavations, and fill plans. Demonstrated experience in leading, planning and management of civil works maintenance and construction. A thorough understanding of Work, Health and Safety requirements and the proven ability to implement safe work practices. A current NT Drivers Licence. Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office suite of products and packages. The Finer Details: Salary of $115,500 per annum ($2,221.10 gross per week).
