THE ROLE: Reporting to the Maintenance and Reliability Manager, the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor is accountable for overseeing on-site tradespersons, ensuring appropriate focus on safety, technician productivity, job quality, workshop housekeeping and adhering to best practice standards. The Mobile Maintenance Supervisor works closely with Planning and Scheduling as well as Reliability Engineering. The function is accountable for an optimized mobile maintenance strategy in the CMMS, following through on Defect Elimination actions, supports Workflow and delivers on agreed Business Leading and Lagging KPI's. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES | MECHANICAL and Auto instrumentation Ensure all heavy vehicle fluids contamination control measures and recommendations are in place and effective on site as per specific guidelines Ensure equipment maintenance is carried out within department budget and time guidelines to ensure machine performance KPI's are met and budgets are not adversely affected (e.g. Life Cycle Cost change out times are met) Coordinate repairs and perform maintenance to all Heavy-duty mobile equipment as well as auxiiary equipment including scheduled, unscheduled, backlog, wear and tear and end user specific (e.g. accident damage) Ensure effective communication, organisation and execution of workshop schedules to minimise machine downtimes Ensure team members accurately diagnose machine faults so Mean-Time-Between-Failure (MTBF) KPI is achieved and unnecessary expenditure is reduced Act as a quality control officer on major maintenance events, monitoring Job Quality and Tradesperson Performance, ensuring Reworks are kept at minimum levels Schedule breakdown priorities with production/mining departments as required Manage on-site expenditure to internal accounts to maximise Technician Recovery (e.g. lost time, supervision, OHS) Ensure Repair and Maintenance history is accurately reflected in MEX and all job tasks are complete Review and authorise timesheets ensuring the labour booked is justified and is allocated to the correct work order/internal account Purchasing off all parts and other stock for mobile fleet. Direct purchasing and external labour purchase orders. Ensure invoices are accurate and without errors (e.g. incorrect labour, too much labour, missing costs, wrong customer codes) Ensure Tradespeople complete task closure (e.g. service reports, parts credits and reman core returns) before progressing to the next job Ensure standard work and job procedures are carried out efficiently and effectively to reduce operating expense and lost time expense Aid the Maintenance and Reliability Manager regarding departmental budget details, planning, scheduling and forecasting of work priority as required Identify and manage warranty jobs ensuring that it is performed in line with OEM warranty guidelines Maintain all breakdown stock, Filters, Fluids and tyres are on hand for direct fitment. Also carry out parts pickup of all of above mentioned Organize the removal of all waste oil and rubbish from around workshop Control and maintain fuel pad between time on site. SKILLS AND SELECTION CRITERIA | RELEVANT QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Australian recognised Trade (Heavy Diesel Mechanic or Auto Electrician) with a minimum 3 years' post qualification experience combined with a minimum 3 years supervisory experience with demonstrated experience in coaching, training and mentoring employees. Alternatively a degreed Mechanical Engineer or similar. Basic understanding of financial principles including working to set budgets Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, interpersonal) Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain successful working relationships Intermediate computer literacy skills - MS Office, internet-based applications Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills to enable effective resolution of issues within the workplace Highly developed attention to detail Advanced time management, planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities to meet objectives Ability to work successfully within a team and autonomously SKILLS AND SELECTION CRITERIA | ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Major OEM dealer experience working in maintenance and repair contracts (Desired) Green Belt CPS/Lean/6 Sigma qualified (Desired) Certificate IV Frontline Management or Diploma of Management (Desired) Responsible attitude towards health, safety and environmental management.
