This is a hands-on senior technical specialist role, implementing a range of projects including researching, evaluating and deploying new capabilities and technologies as well as systems administration and support. Key Responsibilities and Duties: Research, evaluate, master and apply relevant new technologies to address deficiencies and opportunities in current technology stack, systems and security, as directed. In collaboration with the Global IT team, drive adoption and assimilation of approved leading technologies to maintain state of the art effective use of Information Technology across the Institute. Drive and own delivery of assigned IT projects. Contribute towards achievement of ISO 27001 certification. Support business as usual operations, performing Level 3 systems administration tasks. Improve processes, technical procedures and documentation in alignment with ISO 27001. Our Successful Candidate is: One or more of the following: Expert level skills in Microsoft products including Azure and M365 E5, and in particular the security and compliance components. Expert level systems administration skills in Windows Server and System Centre suite. Expert level systems administration skills in Linux and open-source software and/or HPC. At least 5 years' experience working in roles demonstrating a high level of technical expertise, within a complex technology environment. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to research, understand and apply relevant new technologies as required. Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good understanding of ISO 27001.
