The Geotechnical Engineer reports directly to the Technical Manager and work closely with Engineering and Marine Team to offer technical and engineering support and timely delivery of engineering documentation.
This role will suit a motivated team-player with previous Geotechnical experience within the oil and gas and / or marine industry. This role will provide the candidate the opportunity to gain valuable offshore experience in the industry.
The candidate will also have the unique opportunity to collaborate with other geotechnical experts across different offices. This will include the development of advanced anchor modelling tools and innovative anchoring solutions.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Review geophysical and geotechnical data to quantify drag, penetration and capacity of various anchor design
• Preparation of anchor assessment reports to aide in design of mooring system
• Involve in development and maintenance of in-house geotechnical analysis tool
• Carry out dynamic analyses on offshore structures
• Preparations of engineering and operations reports
• Participate in offshore operations, providing technical support as required
• Participate in research and development programmes
• Planning and organisation of works to ensure optimum safety performance
• Assisting with scope of works to ensure compliance with scope, quality, OSH and environmental specifications by creating management plans
• Preparation and communication of progress/performance reports on projects
• Preparation and participation in Research and Development scopes
• Preparation of tender documents and specifications for minor works, examination of, and recommendation on, tenders, and management of minor contracts
Qualifications and Experience:
• Degree-qualified geotechnical engineer or similar, Masters or PhD preferred
• Minimum 2 years' experience in the field of offshore geotechnical engineering or related fields
• Knowledge and experience in the design of drag embedment anchors for floating structures. Design of other anchor types is also beneficial
• Experience interpreting soil in-situ and laboratory test data to develop characteristic soil profiles for use in anchor design
• Knowledge of various anchor assessment methodologies
• Knowledge of industry design standards and regulations, DNV-RP-E301 and API-RP-2SK
• Experience in geotechnical assessments of offshore Australian NWS and Bass Strait data
• Experience developing and maintaining geotechnical analysis tools
• Knowledge of mooring system design and terminology
• Offshore experience is preferable
