About YOUR new job:
As the financial modeller, you will be working on a high-profile Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project in the transmission sector. You will play a critical role in analysing, updating, and structuring financial models to support the development and management of the project, with a specific focus on the regulatory/revenue determination component. You will collaborate closely with the CFO and the regulatory team to ensure the financial viability and success of the Project.
•Develop and maintain complex financial models during the various stages of the project, taking into account the regulatory framework.
•Conduct detailed financial analysis, including sensitivity analysis, scenario modeling, and cash flow projections, considering the regulatory environment and associated revenue streams.
•Collaborate with internal teams, external advisors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to gather relevant financial data and assumptions for use in the financial models.
•Perform due diligence on project-related financial information, including reviewing financial statements, historical data, market research, and regulatory guidelines.
•Identify and evaluate key financial risks, opportunities, and mitigation strategies, considering the specific regulatory requirements and constraints for transmission lines.
•Prepare comprehensive financial reports, presentations, and investment memorandums to communicate findings and recommendations to senior management, external stakeholders, Client and regulatory bodies.
•Collaborate with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, facilitate the development of financial forecasts and budgets, and address any regulatory concerns.
•Monitor and track project performance against financial forecasts and budgets, identifying any deviations and proposing corrective actions, in alignment with regulatory guidelines.
About YOU!
•Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A relevant postgraduate qualification (e.g., MBA, CFA, CA, CPA) is highly desirable.
•Proven work experience as a Financial Modeller, preferably within the infrastructure or PPP sector, with exposure to the regulatory sector.
•Strong knowledge of financial modeling techniques, best practices, and accounting principles.
•Proficiency in using financial modeling software (e.g., Excel, VBA) and other tools to develop complex financial models.
•Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and manipulate large datasets.
•Solid understanding of project finance principles, including cash flow analysis, risk assessment, and financial structuring, with a focus on regulatory considerations for transmission lines.
•Experience in conducting due diligence and financial analysis for infrastructure projects or PPP initiatives, considering regulatory frameworks.
•Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines.
•Knowledge of Australian PPP regulations, frameworks, market dynamics, and regulatory requirements for transmission lines is highly advantageous.
