We represent over 1900 licensed premises in NSW, from bush pubs to suburban hotels, to major CBD entertainment complexes and five-star luxury hotels.A unique opportunity has arisen to join AHA NSW’s Legal and Industrial Affairs (LIA) Department and its incorporated legal practice, HTA Legal.The RoleWe are currently seeking a suitably qualified applicant for the position of Director, Legal & Industrial Affairs. Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer/Chief Legal Counsel, the Director of LIA leads the day-to day operations of the Department in providing advice and support to our members, principally on industrial relations and employment related matters.This role will see you:• Advising on the full spectrum of employment related legal issues including but not limited to employee conduct matters, investigations, terminations and disciplinary issues, and award/enterprise agreement interpretation and compliance.• Advocating in the Fair Work Commission and other courts and tribunals.• Provide practical guidance and strategic advice to relevant stakeholders on the management of employee relations matters.• Manage the provision of timely and practical legal advice to the AHA NSW’s members via the phone, email and web portal legal enquiry service. Including:o Directly providing advice to members;
o Ensuring that advice provided by the LIA Department is accurate and timely.• Oversee the development and maintenance of member legal and IR resources, including template contracts, factsheets, and other member communications.• Monitor and identify emerging industry issues and developments of a legal or industrial relations nature and act appropriately to equip the Association to service members in relation to these.• Be a primary contact point for external stakeholders on legal and industrial relations matters (for example with regulators such as the Fair Work Ombudsman and NSW Employee Relations Inspectorate).• Manage the co-ordination and delivery of the LIA Seminars and Training program.About YouWe are seeking candidates who:
• Are admitted legal practitioners in NSW, with at least 6-7 years PAE;
