About the Company Davidson Technology in Brisbane are currently partnering with a large Queensland State Government department who are providing cost-efficient energy solutions for Queenslanders and facilitate programs and initiatives that encourage renewable energy. We are seeking an experienced Azure Data Engineer for an initial 6-month contract with potential to extend. About the Role In your new role, you will specialise in Business Intelligence and will work as a subject matter expert to support Warehouse maintenance and support needs to meet business requirements. Your key responsibilities will include: Develop new synapse pipelines required for supporting business requirements Modify existing pipelines to cater for warehouse improvements as per business requirements Troubleshoot failures around data ingestions process Use Microsoft Devops (CI/ CD) to deploy new pipelines or changes to existing pipelines Collaborate and work with team members and business to ensure clear definitions and agreement on requirements. Provide technical advice across the BI and Azure Data Platform landscape. About You The ideal applicant for this role will be someone who can demonstrate the following key attributes as they apply to the key responsibilities of the role: Previous experience as a Data Engineer preferably worked in large government organisations. Experience in Azure Synapse, Data Lake and Azure SQL server. Experience in design and development of ETL workflows and data mapping. Extensive data warehouse development experience. Previous experience in modern data platforms and experience in integrating with legacy systems into the data platforms. Understanding of Conceptual, Logical and Physical data modelling, including the ability reverse engineer data models into BI aligned data models. Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills. Work with autonomy whilst collaborating with the broader team as needed. The ability work through business requirements, understanding of business needs and drivers and the ability to advise on the best course of action. Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to manage relationships and consult with stakeholder groups to enable gathering and analysis of requirements to meet business needs. The Benefits This opportunity offers you a 6-month contract with potential to extend, and an hourly rate up to $120 per hour + Superannuation. The client offers flexible working conditions split between 2 work from home days and 3 days in their Brisbane CBD based office.
