Pilbara Ports was established through the consolidation of seven of Western Australia's eight port authorities. (Ports Legislation Amendment Act 2014) Amalgamating the former ports of Dampier and Port Hedland, overseeing the operation of 5 greenfield ports and assumes oversight of several SPA ports including Barrow Island, Cape Preston, Onslow and Port Walcott. Their success stems from their dedication to facilitating port users, fostering growth opportunities, and fostering sustainable communities within the region. Due to an organisational restructure, a new role has been established within the Commercial Critical Port Services Team: the CONTRACTS SPECIALIST. To oversee the entire process from procurement, through to negotiation, execution, and management of port services contracts, which will alignment with Pilbara Ports' management systems, legal requirements, and contractual duties. Experienced procurement and contracts professionals from diverse industries, including local and state government, are encouraged to apply. Ideal candidates will have a strong track record in providing organisational-wide advice, and open to shadowing the Commercial Managers responsibilities from time to time. This role offers a fantastic platform to demonstrate expertise in Bid-Management, Negotiations, Contract Extensions, and Phase Support. To be successful, you will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operations of Pilbara Ports and will display a proactive attitude and hands-on approach in this fast-paced environment. Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager for Critical Port Services, you will work closely with the Marine and Terminal Operation Teams to manage commercial transactions with external stakeholders. You will promote a safe, inclusive, and collaborative workplace that prioritises the mental health and well-being of yourself and others and take ownership and action to ensure a safe work environment. Certain skills, like preparing and negotiating service provider licenses, are acknowledged as industry-specific and can be acquired through on-the-job training.
