The Civil Project Engineer is a key member of our project delivery team. For the right candidate, this offers clear career progression to future senior roles within the Civmec business. You will manage a portion of Project scope and be involved in all aspects of project execution including construction, quality, commercial, and management activities.
Duties and Responsibilities Monitor procurement of materials, cast ins, and consumables for a portion of the project scope, to ensure works can proceed as per schedule. Regularly inspect works during construction, not just at pre-pour inspection, to ensure quality control and construction as per drawings and specifications, working closely with Supervisors to achieve project objectives. Liaise with client representatives regarding technical queries, inspections, project scheduling, and coordinating deliveries. Review, create, issue, and follow up all requests for information (RFI's) and technical queries (TQ's). Ensuring the register is up to date. Resolve technical issues in an expedient and cost-effective manner. Identification, raising, and managing variations to the Contract, working with Senior Engineer and Contracts Administrator as required. Understand and implement quality control techniques, ensure ITP's are adhered to. Preparation and issue of weekly status reports. Provide accurate daily, weekly, and monthly reports as directed. Monitor budgeted, actual, and earned man-hours against the project schedule and cost codes for a portion of the project scope on a weekly basis for QMR. Maintain project files and all civil tracking registers, e.g. rebars, concrete, formwork, etc, delegating tasks to Junior and Graduate Engineers as required. Preparation of work schedules, work packs, and material requisitions. Maintain company standards for Quality Assurance purposes. Preparation of forecasts for a portion of the project scope for concrete, bolts, reo for submission to the Senior and Lead Project Engineer. Completion of Red Line Drawings as required. Manage portion of project scope survey and geotechnical requirements providing a forecast to the Lead and Senior Engineer as required. About You Tertiary qualifications in structural, civil engineering, or construction management. Minimum 5 years experience as a Civil Project Engineer. Experience working on large-scale civil construction projects. Proficient knowledge in MS Office suite is essential. Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
